St Elisabeth's church is a beautiful gem of a building, set in serene and sombre surroundings - surroundings which evoke strong feelings in many people. Before it became an Orthodox church, St Elisabeth's used to be the cemetery chapel, and many funerals were conducted here. It is a place that is very special to a great many people in the Liscard area, especially to those who have said goodbye to their loved ones here over the years.
Mindful of this, we are happy to open our doors to those who wish to use St Elisabeth's for Christian funerals once again. It is important that this church should remain a place that the people of Liscard can feel is very much a part of the life of their community. Churches that profess faith in the Holy and Undivided Trinity are welcome to
contact Father Paul if they wish to arrange funerals at our church.
It may also be possible for the church to occasionally host book fairs, musical performances, and certain other performances and exhibitions. We would only ask that anybody wishing to use the building be mindful that this is a building which will be made holy by the repeated and fervent prayers of the people of God, Any event hosted by the church must be respectful of the primary purpose of this church, which is the worship of God by his people.
If you have any uncertainties, please do not hesitate to contact us and we shall do our best to help.
